Insulated Radiant Heat Reducing Glazing Solution

SuperLite I-XL patented technology now affords fire-rated products to have energy performance similar to all insulated units. SuperLite I-XL IGU provides the highest energy efficiency available in fire protective products as well as radiant heat protection which is not provided by most 45 or 60 minute fire protective exterior products.

The technology of SuperLite I-XL IGU as compared to ceramics blocks up to 90% of the dangerous radiant heat generated by a nearby fire. This added protection stops the fire from jumping to adjacent properties while maintaining its integrity. The superior clarity of SuperLite I-XL IGU, when compared to ceramics amber tint & ‘orange peel’ effect, provides optimal vision. While SuperLite I-XL IGU provides additional benefits and greater clarity than ceramics, it is less than half the price.

The intended use of SuperLite I-XL IGU for exterior use is preferred by fire fighters because it can be broken out cleanly, allowing them quick access to the fire and safe egress of occupants. Due to the benefits of protecting people and property from radiant heat, SuperLite I-XL IGU is recognized by many AHJs as a superior solution for 45 minute exterior glazing even though it does not pass the hose stream portion of the fire protective testing in the USA. This same type of fire protective solution has been used throughout the world for over 20 years.

This product is recognized and accepted by the GSA, city of San Francisco and other cities as a preferred solution for 45-minute applications.
