Maximizing Glass and
Fire Safety
in Schools

Q2 2012

This is a quarterly newsletter for architects, designers and planners who build and renovate our schools.  We research school building trends, codes and innovations in the use of fire-rated glass in schools, and then publish what we find at Safe Glass for Schools.

In this issue, we take an outside-inside tour of schools to review codes that affect the type and size of glazing allowed in places that provide protection against the spread of fire and radiant heat. We also offer a case study of an attractive, code compliant glass wall installed at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah.
